RLDA to Monetize New Settlement of Jalpaiguri Barrack, Real Estate News, ET RealEstate


KOLKATA: Indian Railways, as part of its ongoing monetization efforts, has issued a tender for the redevelopment of an existing rail complex as well as the development of commercial and residential space at Barrack Colony, New Jalpaiguri in Bengal Western, said an official with the Rail Land Development Authority. (RLDA), under the Ministry of Railways, is the executing agency, the official said.

The offer carries a reserve price of Rs 26.7 crore for the area of ​​16,222 m² for lease for 99 years.

The online pre-bid meeting was held with the participation of prominent national and local developers.

The deadline for submitting the electronic offer is January 28, 2022.

“The twin city of New Jalpaiguri-Siliguri is the gateway to the hill stations of Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Gangtok. This site is located on the main road from New Jalpaiguri station and has excellent connectivity. The entire land is free of any obstruction or encroachment where development can begin immediately. “said RLDA vice-president Ved Parkash Dudeja.

The total land area available is 21,963 m², the rentable area is 16,222 m² with an authorized floor area index (FSI) of 3.0. The redevelopment works of the construction of 96 Type II Quarters units for railway employees are to be completed over a period of two years.
